Clean Water for Mwangi Village in Rural Kenya

Mwangi Village, located in the Kiambu County of Kenya, is home to over 1,200 people who currently have no access to clean, safe drinking water. Residents, mainly women and children, walk up to 6 kilometres each day to collect water from a shared and often contaminated river source. Waterborne diseases are a leading cause of illness and death in the village, particularly among children under five.

Our team of engineers and local volunteers has identified a viable site for a borehole well that would provide clean water directly within the village. The project includes drilling, casing, pump installation, a storage tank, and community training on water management and maintenance.

With your help, we can complete this project within four months of reaching our funding goal. A one-time contribution of just $30 provides clean water access for one person for an entire year. Together, we can end the daily water crisis for over 1,200 people and give the children of Mwangi Village the chance to thrive.
